    My AGM speech

Great work Brendan, we may not have heard the last of this yet. It’s so wrong that they won’t do the right thing by their customers or ‘those people’ as Mr Hunt refers to us as. Does anyone know that if a case is successful in the High Court the Bank has to apply the ruling for similar cases?

AIB How much would it cost to take the Prevailing Rate issue to the High Court?

CiaraCostello it depends how long the High Court action takes. I think it’s around €20k per day

AIB AIB has accepted the Ombudsman's decision and will be rolling it out to 5,900 impacted customers

Peemac thank you that would be good to know. Thank you Peemac. That would be useful to know. I cannot understand why the FPSO didn’t rule on the prevailing rate issue. Given the breach of contract, the impacted group should be put back to a position where the can choose fixed, variable or...

AIB AIB has accepted the Ombudsman's decision and will be rolling it out to 5,900 impacted customers

Very disappointed. AIB have gotten off lightly. We are still overpaying on mortgage whereby the prevailing tracker rate denied to us should have been reinstated. The prevailing tracker rate is the last published rate prior to their withdrawal.

AIB Started on SVR, but fixed, should I have been offered prevailing rate?

AIB We have won the Prevailing Rate issue

I am an ex employee of AIB and I would say that they’ll be paying out sooner rather than later. They won’t want to drag it out

Does anyone know when the Ombudsman is expected to finalise his decision?

AIB We have won the Prevailing Rate issue

Hopefully AIB will pay compensation sooner rather than later. Should we as mortgage holders be instructing the Bank to move these mortgages to tracker, pending compensation?

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

Brendan I’ve decided to lodge a complaint. I rang the Ombudsman’s office yesterday. They told me it may be up to 6 months before someone is assigned to my case!

Effect of Split Mortgage on ICB Credit Rating

Without knowing the terms of the split mortgage, AIB restructuring documentation usually has a clause that borrowings over €500 must have Bank’s consent

AIB My appeal delayed due to "additional issues which require further consideration"

I’m ex AIB staff, Elaine. My case is very similar to yours. Part staff rate, part SVR and part tracker.

AIB My appeal delayed due to "additional issues which require further consideration"

Yes perhaps, Brendan. Are the Appeals Panel ultimately answerable to the Central Bank? I wonder if the appeal outcomes are ever sampled for auditing purposes?

AIB My appeal delayed due to "additional issues which require further consideration"

Hi Elaine I got the exact same letter today. I also have a small part of my mortgage on Tracker with the balance on SVR. I submitted my appeal mid March. Not sure what to make of the letter don’t want to get my hopes up

AIB AIB - who has appealed the €1650 /3.67% issue?

Appealed 7th March using Brendan’s template. Received a letter around 10 days ago from BDO confirming receipt of the appeal.

AIB Step by step guide to making an appeal on the AIB €1615 tracker

Excellent stuff Brendan. I listened to you on Sean O’Rourke and you mentioned that the new CEO may decide ‘to do the right thing’ by this cohort of 6,000 affected mortgage holders. As an ex-employee of AIB I highly doubt it. Either they’ll be told by the CB to refund or dragged kicking and...
