AIB Recognising Brendan's contribution to the AIB Prevailing Rate Campaign

Donation greatfully made to prevailing rate art fund. I was fortunate to receive a 20K payment and 25k write down plus tracker restored at 1.74%. (I appreciate it is merely a refund of my own money wrongfully taken by AIB). This is a life changing result for me and my family. I was blissfully...

300 Cohort - Mortgage has been written down

I'm in the same boat. My mortgage was written down by 26K last week (no correspondence re same) but would have been expecting 31.5K under Ombudsman scheme. Actually as I write maybe that is 31k less 5K cheque already received. I'm confused now!! I think I'll wait until I get a letter if I ever do

AIB Who has still not got the capital write down or heard from AIB , who got the €1,615?

Got the €1,615 in March 2018. Was in arrears and had arrears capitalised and few years added to term of mortgage. Still no write down

AIB You can call the helpline to see if you are included

It’s €1,615. People keep saying €1,650 but we all got €1,615 - €1,000 in compensation. + €500 plus VAT @ 23% - €615 towards professional fees if we wanted to engage a solicitor/other financial expert

Thanks for reply Brendan. Yes I broke fixed rate in Nov 2009 as Variable rate was lower at the time. I had friend who was manager in Aib at time and I think he was was keeping me up to speed with changing rates. To be honest I had forgotten how often i changed rates!!
