Mortgage Protection - any issue being on SSRIs for anxiety?

Absolutely. I knew someone who worked in the healthcare profession and was afraid to get medication for anxiety because you have to declare your full medical history on all job applications, it was almost assumed it was an automatic NO to future job prospects. That was 5 years ago, maybe things...

Mortgage Protection - any issue being on SSRIs for anxiety?

Is the bank/lender only interested in the fact that you have mortgage protection, or could they ask to see the details of the policy to know what details were disclosed to the insurance company? e.g. if your mortgage application revealed some details about your health that came up during...

    Mortgage application at keying stage

We have been told by our broker that our mortgage application is in the queue to be keyed by the bank. Prior to this we provided some additional information requested by the bank during their preliminary check after the broker had sent everything on. Does the fact that it's at keying stage now...

    Mortgage deposit with gambling winnings

I previously lived in the UK, and over there the mortgage providers will find any and all bank account you have through the credit registers, experian etc. However, over here it appears to be different, but I wish I realised that some time ago and opened a separate bank account especially for...

    Mortgage deposit with gambling winnings

I am in a very similar situation to the OP here, with an amount greater than what he has quoted coming from gambling wins over the years. Am currently waiting on mortgage approval, broker advised me to wait until the accounts were "Clean" for over 6 months, which I have done. I am old enough to...

Mortgage providers accepting state payments as income

Broker has confirmed that Ulster Bank will accept Invalidity pension if we can get letter confirming in writing that it is a guaranteed permanent payment. Many thanks to Easter for sending us in the right direction. We had been dealing with another broker who despite claiming to deal with...

    Drug refund scheme

Some doctors might be flexible with the prescriptions for certain medications. Over 10 years ago, I travelled to a country requiring daily malaria medication for 2 months and my doctor wrote out double the dose on the prescription to make it appear as a single month's prescription, allowing me...

Mortgage providers accepting state payments as income

Perhaps, if we were closer to 70% LTV. Without the extra 35k we are closer to 60% LTV. Valuer acting on bank's behalf has to provide estimation of final house value including site and it's difficult to get them to come down , from unofficial discussions we've had.

Mortgage providers accepting state payments as income

Thanks Easter. Online research indicated that UB do self-build mortgages through brokers, but my local broker on their list wasn't sure over the phone and is now going to check! Borrowing the extra 35k will have us much closer to eligibility for the Help to Buy Scheme also by approaching the 70%...

Mortgage providers accepting state payments as income

Do any mortgage providers accept state payment as income? My wife is on Invalidity pension of 10k approx per year. This could allow us borrow 3.5 x 10k = 35k more IF any borrower accepts it. Does anyone know of any who do? BTW we are building, so that reduces potential providers further!

    Changes to Help-to-Buy Scheme

For self-build applicants to the HTB scheme, what classifies as the Purchase Price of the house? The final valuation? the amount paid to contractor for builders finish? etc I ask because of the 70% LTV rule which I am on the wrong side of at present, but wondering if there is a workaround.

Disability Allowance application - asked to explain income transaction

Me again..... Perhaps a more pressing question I have relates to the following: https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/disability_and_illness/disability_allowance.html Income from spouse's, civil partner's or cohabitant's work If your spouse, civil partner...

Disability Allowance application - asked to explain income transaction

My wife has sent in an application for Disability allowance, which required 6 months of banks statements for both of us. I earn a reasonably good salary but we have no property or other wealth to declare on the application (less than €10k in all bank statements combined). During the 6 month...

Part-time self employed: claiming illness benefit?

I think what we need now is to arrange an appointment with an accountant regarding the best option for working as a contractor. I note that most agencies who provide umbrella company services charge rates that might be acceptable if full-time contracting at a daily rate but are quite high for...

Part-time self employed: claiming illness benefit?

Not sales, it is a role related to her qualification, of which there is somewhat of a shortage in this country, plus maybe not many willing to take on this part-time role, therefore the role involves travel of over 100km each way. It is a reputable company so no worries there.

Part-time self employed: claiming illness benefit?

Thanks for the reply gipimann. Looks like she would have to go on illness benefit for 6 months before being eligible for the Partial Capacity Benefit. Further details of her new part-time role offer show that mileage will be paid monthly, and remaining payment, on completion of each "project"...
