    Form 11 Error and Resubmission

Yes, the difference is material. Basically a capital gain in a partnership was misclassed as income. 2017 in favour of revenue, and 2018 and 2019 significantly in favour of me. It was discovered this year before submission and I can adjust 2020 ok.

    Form 11 Error and Resubmission

I have discovered that I made an error on my Form 11 in 2017 and I wish to resubmit. Unfortunately, ROS will not allow me to create a 2017 Form 11 again. This error caused errors in 2018 and 2019 also which will need to be resubmitted. I have submitted an enquiry to Revenue, but I have not...

What value for PPR disposition on Form 11?

Hi, I disposed of my PPR in 2019 with my partner. I believe we both have to declare the disposition on each of our Form 11's. Do we each put half the value of the disposition and add the claim the PPR relief for half the value? (We did not have a capital gain). Many thanks.

    Regularising an irregular childminder

Thanks for the help. I assume whatever estimations she would need to be agreed by her? Annoyed I put it on the long finger and let it go till now. but it was a handful of hours a week before Covid, and then nothing up to the kids going back to school.

    Regularising an irregular childminder

Hi, we have a lady who looks after our 3 kids during the week. We are both PAYE workers, so not too familiar with prsi, payroll, etc. It was quite irregular as we had an afterschool, but the afterschool has closed down due to covid. Duties are childminding; pick up from school, bring home...

Is interest expense allowable on overseas fund investments?

I have incurred interest in Ireland for a private loan used to purchase a material interest in an overseas fund. Is that interest in any way allowable against interest income received from the overseas fund? The private lender of the loan would be declaring the interest income as Irish interest...

    Regulated offshore funds definition

Is there a definitive list of either regulations, funds, classes of funds that can determine whether an offshore fund is regulated or unregulated? For example, I would guess a Delaware based, SEC regulated private hedge fund would be OECD based and regulated, but I can't find any Revenue...

Inheritance tax due on house still lived in by father?

Yes you're right. It's 320k total. Got confused with 320k per child.

Inheritance tax due on house still lived in by father?

Is your husband close to 320k threshold for gifts from his mother? The allowance applies to each parent separately. I'm unsure how part of the house has passed to your hus and in the absence of a will, though. You would expect that without a will a will, the estate would pass to your husbands...

CGT on House sale and exemptions

As you are claiming the ppr exemption partially, I believe the final year of ownership prior to sale would also be deemed as ppr and subject to exemption from CGT. I stand to be corrected. Perhaps someone else could comment.

Is working 4 day week an advantage

Not sure I follow you on this. Should you not work Mondays as they are when most public holidays are so you benefit most?

TAX LIABILITY ON MONIES RECEIVED FROM US

I don't see a tax liability either, but I would ensure you have documentation in place showing that they were not your funds. Keep correspondence from your friend, and ideally get a letter and file it for future reference should you need to show that it was not yours, and that you were...

Helping out older child -Marriage Breakdown.

Firstly, I would document all of the agreements along the way, if not already done. From you email its not currently clear if the house was only in your parents name. Or how long this process has been going on, or how long she has been living there? From my read of the situation above...

    Offshore Fund on Form 11

The funds are structured as private closed investment partnerships,SEC regulated, holding profit participation notes, calling principal, and repaying principal and interest on underlying investments...

    christmas bonus tax

Yes, but if they simply issued the bonus as 3 individual 500 vouchers, then one (i.e. the first voucher) would be tax free and the 2 subsequent would be taxed. I cannot see it costing the company anything other than a moments admin, and staff get more, and the vouchers still get spent there...

    christmas bonus tax

Well, I believe 500 should be tax free, as allowed by revenue as a small benefit. 1000 then should be taxed at your normal rate, assuming the amount doesn't push you over a threshold. Have you asked your HR/payroll how they are calculating the tax? Specifically, what type of vouchers? Are they...

    PAYE and Preliminary Tax

Checked last year, and i wont say it to her (for the sake of peace), but Id say she put the preliminary amount in herself instead of a refund. The prelim is showing as a payment to collector in 17, so i've zero'd the pre-populated 18 preliminary, and requested the full over-payment amount in...

    PAYE and Preliminary Tax

My OH is a PAYE worker, with no untaxed income, but files on ROS as she have some reportable CGT events some years back. On her 2016 return, she was charged preliminary tax, in the exact amount she have overpaid. (I did not see the submission - so I dont know if it was an error on her part)...
