Government approves drafting of Courts and Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Bill 2018

I realise that not what its intended for, I am just wondering if it could be used/abused in that situation?

Government approves drafting of Courts and Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Bill 2018

Would this apply to a landlord seeking possession of his property from a tenant who is refusing to leave?

Case study Ulster Bank not contactable so I went into arrears

I'd rather not say. I will say that it was very clear with them how I would be deemed non cooperating/engaging and they reacted very quickly to any paperwork submitted. It drives me crazy as well all the talk about people who won't pay feels like everyone is been branded the same. You make a...

Ireland has always had higher mortgage rates than the rest of the eurozone

Yeah sorry I must have misunderstood that at the time and it must have been + 1.75% ecb rate at the time. Again I'm no financial guru/savvy property investor. I didn't go ahead with a purchase at the time but given what you said there I must have misunderstood at the time. Again I'm absolutely...

Ireland has always had higher mortgage rates than the rest of the eurozone

I stopped working in France and settled in Ireland so I have no idea what the interest rates are now. I don't know how the default procedure worked in France, never heard of it happening while I was there but that could possibly have changed after 2008/9.

Ireland has always had higher mortgage rates than the rest of the eurozone

Yeah pretty sure, it was back in 2005. I had a friend who was working with an irish bank at the time and when i told him at the time he absolutely dismissed it as well saying it wasn't possible.

Ulster Bank sells 5,200 mortgages to Cerberus

Ahh that is a real example, it doesn't have to be super complicated and it is an entirely plausible situation.

Case study Ulster Bank not contactable so I went into arrears

I went through the marp process and cannot fault my lender. I am not trying to pass judgement on your situation. Everyone will have a different experience of marp taken into account their different lender, circumstances and reason for ending up in the process. At the end of the day it is a very...

Case study Ulster Bank not contactable so I went into arrears

I don't doubt you but with those delays were you deemed non engaging? If you were not then it is the likes of yourself that should be protected from been sold to a vulture fund.

Ireland has always had higher mortgage rates than the rest of the eurozone

Sorry for sticking my oar in again but in 2005 I had mortgage approval in France and Ireland. In France it was 25yrs fixed at 1.75% for the term. In Ireland it was 2.8% discounted svr for 1 year and 3.25% thereafter 25yrs as well. In Ireland though I didn't have access to all lenders I think. I...

Ulster Bank sells 5,200 mortgages to Cerberus

If your talking about vulture funds saying "this bank like any bank is not a registered charity" you might want to look again I think they might actually be registered the same/similar to charities(I stand to be corrected on this and would like to know what they are registered as). I do however...

Ulster Bank sells 5,200 mortgages to Cerberus

Absolutely not, that's what "marp" is for. It is non engagement that is the problem not illness in such a situation.

Ulster Bank sells 5,200 mortgages to Cerberus

Quite simply they just want to make more fom the loan book and decide to simply raise the interest rate? Someone could have prioritised their mortgage over an unsecured debt and would not be in a position to change lender. I'm no financial guru by the way.

Case study Ulster Bank not contactable so I went into arrears

Although what you say is correct in your situation newtothis my experience with my lender was very efficient despite our situation changing no less than 3 times over a 2 year period due to illness and been out of work for the same period. I do find it hard to believe that people cannot pick up...

Ulster Bank sells 5,200 mortgages to Cerberus

What's to stop a vulture fund simply raising the interest rate on a performing svr mortgage? People are absolutely right to be concerned about these sales. Whether performing or not.

Case study Ulster Bank not contactable so I went into arrears

The above is ridiculous and don't pass any heed to most of it. The mistakes you did/didn't make are irrelevant. You are where you are. Also her divorce is very relevant regarding how much she can pay. You need to have a frank conversation with your sister about the consequences of the situation...

"vulture funds just want to evict people to turn a quick profit"

I know exactly where your coming from but I have to say I had good dealings with my lender who were polite and courteous in general. Now, two years into a split after recovering from ill health and working full time again I requested a review as my circumstances have changed and was told it...
