Mortgage lenders agree framework to facilitate switching from vultures

I am currently on a split with Pepper (prev PTSB 89k warehoused) this is welcome to try and help us switch. However........ I am uneasy about exiting Split with Pepper to show one month Full payments There is no guarantee that we will get a loan from main street lender , and then we would may...

Mortgage Prisoners - time to get loud!!

Thanks for your input Gordon Ghekko, but a lot of people would disagree with you. Emotion has nothing to do with it. If you could not fix your mortgage rate with your Bank in the face of rising ECB rates, would you think it was fair then? A lot of us want to pay the Mortgage like everyone...

Mortgage Prisoners - time to get loud!!

@gordon Ghekko and Clubman, I'm sure you both have the choice to fix your mortgage to protect yourself from ECB rate rises! Our complaint is those of us transferred to Vultures funds can not fix and have seen our mortgages rise a couple of hundred a month. Yes a month!!! Do you still think...

Mortgage Prisoners - time to get loud!!

Hi Daddyman The issue is they are Vulture funds are passing on every rate hike from ECB, tracker and variable. Main stream banks are not. (unless on a tracker) Those on variable rates are seeing there interest rates rise nearly to 8%. Any sensible person with their right mind would fix for...

    Pepper Variable Rate/Mortgage Prisoner

Hi Cocomo12 Thanks for your reply, I have indeed spoke to Pepper and was basically told to do something about small car loan (no other debt) to try and restructure that to free up funds or show them a letter of refusal and would only then consider a rate decrease.(Only recently got car loan so...

    Pepper Variable Rate/Mortgage Prisoner

Hi Brendan Yes, I seen you are a very big advocate when it comes to voicing this. I have sent emails to TD's, Spoke to Charlie Weston etc, so to say get off our rear end and do something about it, I have! There has been coverage on TV/papers and radio, Central Bank and Michael McGrath are very...

    Pepper Variable Rate/Mortgage Prisoner

Thanks Clubman, The issue really for us is rate they are charging interest with no option to fix to try and protect ourselves we are not with Pepper by choice. Again we can't switch, never in arrears and we are nearly now paying what we would pay for full mortgage (including warehouse) if we...

    Pepper Variable Rate/Mortgage Prisoner

Hello, Just looking for anyone else's experience with Pepper and their interest rates. We transferred from PTSB with a split mortgage on a fixed rate 3.7 % (no arrears). This fixed rate ended last year and Pepper immediately put up our interest rate (even before ECB hike) and now nearly paying...

Key Post What has your split mortgage experience been like?

4.36% variable rate with Pepper now. Sorry bad choice of words. We actually transfered money over to main account from warehouse(we did not physically pay it off), we were trying to get back to full mortgage repayments.

Key Post What has your split mortgage experience been like?

We had start chipping away at it when with PTSB before sold, requested with Pepper to transfer some over this year, but because they were putting there rates up they refused us.

    Mortgage Term/Switch

Hi, Currently devising a plan to make a switch from Pepper to AIB(previously with PTSB split mortgage) however I am 45 and my husband is 52. We currently have a mortgage term of 20 years left (based on my age) but AIB basing term on husband's age (15 years) would this be the case with all banks...

Key Post PTSB has just informed me that they have sold my mortgage to Glenbeigh/Pepper

Hi User1981 None of us know what Pepper will be like to deal with. The plan for us going forward is pay as agreed, always engage, everything in writing and stay out of arrears. Eventually in time we hope to pay full mortgage repayment and hopefully find another bank to give us a mortgage once...

Can Pepper increase the intererest rate on ptsb loans?

Hi Brendan. My fears exactly summed up. Peppers interest rates from what I can see are a lot higher than PTSB. I recently fixed for three years with PTSB so what SVR I will face from Pepper when I come out of this is very uncertain.
