AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

I drew down my mortgage in June 2004 and it has clause 3.2. I would advise everyone to check their contracts

AIB Mortgage payments are now being reduced as a result of the write-off

I got a mortgage write down €48,935 which equated to 15.8% of the outstanding mortgage balance. Does this mean my monthly repayments will reduce by 15.8%?

AIB AIB now writing to people about the write down.

I got the same letter this morning. Delighted with the result. Sincere thanks to Brendan for all his efforts. Just have to note the complete arrogance of AIB in the first line of the letter that refers to ‘failure’ they still won’t admit they breached our contracts.

Wha does ms Rowland mean when she talks about "the customer journey in the contracts"? I'm completely baffled

Central Bank Governor at the Finance Committee next week

Thanks Brendan I think the CB needs to be challenged more vigoursly here. This is total waffle. I accept that if tracker rates existed after Oct 08, they would have been significantly higher than 1.5%. However, they would have been nowhere near 7.9! Are the CB saying here that AIB have provided...

Central Bank Governor at the Finance Committee next week

Thanks for posting Brendan I have emailed Michael McGrath and asked him to raise the AIB prevailing rate issue.

AIB AIB claims that the prevailing tracker rate would have been 7.9% for a PDH!

Hi David _Dublin I am also one of the 4,000 mortgage holders affected. I have also submitted SARS request and will lodge appeal. In addition, I have written to my local TDs and also FF Michael McGrath who has be very vocal on this issue. Another poster also suggested contacting journalist such...

AIB Padraic Kissane calls on AIB to properly redress the Prevailing Rate cohort.

Michael McGrath replied that he would keep pursuing this matter. Mary M-O'C suggested I contact the Central Bank - total cop out. The other TDs in my constituency have not replied to my email - sent over 3 weeks ago

AIB Padraic Kissane calls on AIB to properly redress the Prevailing Rate cohort.

Hi Spike67 I agree. However, I believe AIB will not do anything unless they are forced to do so by the Government. I've submitted a SARS request and once I have that I will appeal. I have also emailed my local TDs.

AIB Where is AIB getting the prevailing rates from?

Thanks Andy 836. That's really useful. I will use this information in my appeal if that's ok. I don't hold out much hope. I think a better route is to start banging on the doors of the politicians. Milkof, That's ridiculous that your complaint still hasn't been resolved. However, once they...

AIB Where is AIB getting the prevailing rates from?

Andy836 Can I ask where are you getting AIB COF from please? I would like to check it for Nov 11 when my fixed rate expired - could be useful in my appeal. Thanks

AIB Where is AIB getting the prevailing rates from?

Thanks IdesofMarch and as an ex-Bank employee I would echo you advise to urge all impacted borrowers to appeal and submit a SARS request. Good way of getting their attention - he who shouts loudest etc, I'm also contacting my local TDs.

AIB Where is AIB getting the prevailing rates from?

I got my letter from AIB a week ago. I fall under one of the 4,000 people who were denied the option of a tracker. They are being disingenuous by advising the average tracker rate for the period 2008-13 was 7.9%. The product was withdrawn on 10th Oct 2008. In cases where the contact terms are...
