    I am in the same boat with the lenders prevailing variable rate, I do think that this was the tracker at the time and was worded that way when you fixed from the start which I did like many others. Unfortunately thinking and proving are two different things. Wonder what’s padraic kissane...

    @peemac That’s not true my contract and many others started on a fixed and the wording is, At the expiry of the fixed rate period the lenders prevailing variable rate will apply and doesn’t explain that rate anywhere.

    Kbc (iib) done most of its business through brokers, so we are customers of the broker don’t see how the central bank are letting them away with that.

    This is the flyer See the way it says all fixed rate customers will roll to tracker, nothing about new customers. About the new tracker product it says available to all new customers in big bold writing opinions ??

    Are these two paragraphs from different years, the first one explains the rate the second one does not. The first one says the rate may vary from time to time in line with general market condition ie svr. The second one does not explained the rate, it should at least explain the rate.

    Good article all right, shows the tracker mortgage scandal is far from over. Rightly pointed out Brendan EBS and KBC should be added to the list, that would bring numbers above 10,000 hard to believe at this stage still so much resistance from the banks.

    KBC KBC basing cohorts on Application date rather than Draw-down dates

    Pk told the finance committee awhile back, that the flyer was for all fixed rate customers, it was a drive to maintain existing customers. I don’t know if he has changed his mind on it or not. I also share your view on it.
