AIB Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

The FSPO has given them a deadline of 11th September for my complaint, as I'm not a current customer I'm not expecting anything from them until September 10th! Shower of......

AIB AIB now writing to people about the write down.

Brendan, see attached letters from the Ombudsman from April this year stating that we should be compensated by September - we have not heard directly from AIB as we no longer have a mortgage with them. Is this what you're looking for?

    AIB Split Mortgage-Fixed/Variable

MingMong29, just curious - did you receive two cheques for €1615? We also had a split mortgage (50/50) which was fixed and variable, but we went fixed on both after the initial two year period. When they issued the 'service failure' cheques we received two. We're no longer with AIB so I'm...

AIB You can call the helpline to see if you are included

Thank you Brendan for guiding us to this outcome. It's a great result for people like me who no longer have anything to do with AIB, for those still seeking their tracker it's not as great. I called the helpline this morning to get the official 'story'. They are now saying the timeline for...

AIB AIB asks Ombudsman to put other prevailing rate cases on hold...

Ditto, got the same response today. Looks like everything rests on how the binding decision goes...

No tracker after fixed rate term

You had to have had a clause in your contract (3.2) that stated you were entitled to a tracker rate at the end of any fixed period. You would have previously received a cheque for 1,615 if you were part of the impacted cohort.

AIB We have won the Prevailing Rate issue

Just wanted to echo the sentiments of all on this group, thank you so much for your guidance Brendan. I was one of the earlier submissions to the ombudsman and my case is currently 'being referred to the bank for comment'. I asked my contact person in the Ombudsman's office what the press...

Ombudsman to adjudicate on prevailing rate cases "shortly"

We're the Prevailing rate. They said they're carrying out the investigation and will put their findings to AIB, said they've no idea how long the process will take.

Ombudsman to adjudicate on prevailing rate cases "shortly"

I have received an updated letter from the Ombudsman stating that our case has now been assigned a manager..we submitted our complaint in April/May last year so I'm not expecting this to be decided anytime soon....

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

I started the claim not long after the appeal panel rejection, early April I think.

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

The mediation started at the end of May, in July they offered 500 for the FOI aspect, stood firm on tracker stance, at the very beginning of September they upped their offer to 1000 still no budge on tracker issue. We then referred for adjudication but they said that could take up to 9 months so...

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

Brendan - we started mediation in April, the FOI is only an aside to our complaint but AIB seem to be focused on that aspect. Being denied the option of a tracker is our main priority.

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

Hi Brendan, we were offered nothing during the Independent Appeals Panel process. The mediation through the ombudsman was a little more hopeful with 500 offered initially, which we rejected and then 1,000 offered - again rejected and referred to adjudication. To be clear this offer was not in...

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

To be honest I was surprised they offered anything, despite their protests it was an 'accident'. I think it points to a conscious effort to withhold pertinent information. They also sent our paperwork to a branch we had never used and and wouldn't let me collect it when I went to the branch...

AIB Any progress on the AIB prevailing rate issue with the Ombudsman?

We referred our case to the Ombudsman for determination on the 9th September and have heard nothing since. We had previously gone through mediation and AIB upped their offer to 1k for sending out incorrect documentation during our FOI request but on the condition that would also settle our...

    AIB Mediation with Ombudsman unsuccessful

I now have a deadline approaching about whether to pursue High Court Action or continue with Ombudsman. We have rejected the 500 compensation offer from AIB. Wondering what those who had appeals denied plan to do next?

    AIB Mediation with Ombudsman unsuccessful

Yes completely normal prevailing rate issue, no extra details apart from my compliant about receiving incomplete documentation. I opened the separate complaint about incomplete T&C's a year ago so maybe that's why it went through mediation first...
