Thanks for the information. Brendan. Yes. Piece on the radio recently stating that people with a second home would be harder hit if going down the fair deal scheme route.

Property transfer from parents to children

Hi all. My parents own their family home (400k) and also another rental property (300k) which they receive a rental income from. They have spoken about transfering their own home into our(children's) names but weren't sure about the rental property. Problem being tax implications of the...

Hi. Only seeing your replies now. I just recently found out that the pyrite board are now beginning to look at post 2013 once the buyer can prove that they didn't know the house they bought had pyrite. Helen McEntee has pushed this for the last year or more for us and without her I think we...

Unknownly bought a pyrite house after the Dec 2013 pyrite scheme cut off

Hi. Did anyone have to accept exclusions from the home insurance provider based on having pyrite. My home insurance policy is up for renewal and I informed the insurance company and they will provide cover at the same cost but will exclude insuring me against subsidance. Is this normal practise?

    Options for interest rate

Maybe I don't have a case but when I explained the above to the bank they said they'd investigate. I thought the bank would have been obliged to offer all options not just one.

    Options for interest rate

Hi All, Would it have been very very unusual not to be offered any interest rate options at all on a mortgage let alone a tracker. I went through a broker to apply for the mortgage when trackers were still an option but being phased out. (at the time I was young and was just happy to get a...

AIB AIB restoring my tracker - but at 3.67%!

Hi Balfour My loan Offer doc states that I would be automatically put on variable after the Intial one year fixed rate had expired. No mention of anything other than this. But presumably I would have been sent a document prior to loan offer which would have required me to pick which rate I...
