Do Cornmarket’s fees include advice. Assume the 595 is probably to cover the advice?

    Contributory State Pension

Yes you will be eligible for full state pension assuming you have 40 full years contributions. Not contributing for last 10 years won’t have any relevance.

    Contributory State Pension

Sure it is, but that’s not relevant to the question asked.

Public Sector AVC or PRSA- go with Cornmarket or do it myself?

If you decide to go abroad you could see if it was possible to transfer your AVC value to that country. There is a rule in pensions manual about not being able to transfer to avoid pension rules but if you genuinely move to another country you should be OK. You could then decide to draw those...

Advice on best equity based investment balance for savings

You should be aware that money going into your AVC's may be taxed at the high rate when you withdraw them. In retirement any combined income in excess of 70,600 will be liable to 40% tax rate. (In todays terms). Money in the AVC will benefit from gross roll up (no tax every 8 years), but you...

I'm bankrupt but wife is not. Mortgage being paid.

PTSB from personal experience will be very slow to do anything. (Years) Be careful though, if mortgage is in joint names the full amount will possibly still need to be repaid by the second party (mother in this case).

    ICB Report

Hi Jayboy, It sounds like a difficult situation for you and I feel your pain. However there is not a whole lot you can do. Credit Union is a good plan, start sending money to them on a monthly basis, this will help further down the road.

    Getting a mortgage after bankruptcy

Hi Anbhfuilcead, I believe you are correct, who confirmed this for you? I can find material from the UK but I can't find anything in Ireland so far...

    Getting a mortgage after bankruptcy

Is it just me or are PTSB the only bank refusing to correct an ICB report when pushed. I'm more than 5 years post discharge and they are still reporting my account to the ICB as in arrears? Its very frustrating, they are claiming that as the property is not sold they have the right to continue...

Prodigy81 did you ever get them to correct your ICB report? Have you lodged a compliant with the FSO?

Bank admits misreporting an ICB file - where to go next?

Having filed for bankruptcy in 2011 in the UK and discharged one year later. I'm now clear of discharge for more than 5 years, however one of my lenders is still reporting my loan to the ICB as account in arrears. Obviously this is incorrect, I have lodged a complaint with the FSO which is in...

    ICB Report

Hi Jayboy, its supposed to stay on your ICB report for 5 years after discharge. So for you that's 26th of June 2022. Unfortunately for me one of my lenders (mortgage) is still reporting to the ICB as the account being in arrears, and I have been discharged for more than 5 years now. I have a...

    Getting a mortgage after bankruptcy

Following discharge your debts are written off, which means you no longer have a liability to repay them and the lender can't chase you for repayments. However the record stays on your credit report for five years from date of discharge. (That's the way its supposed to happen anyhow)

    Post-discharge ICB Report

Hi no_moolah, I find it crazy that a bank (PTSB in this case) can blatently lie to suit their own agenda and have no reprecussions. Similiar to yourself I have caught them out on more than one issue, yet they continue to use what can only be described as bullying tactics. Legal action may be...

    KBC tracker - Need help

Is there a difference between your mortgage account being in review and being 'in scope'? Was every tracker mortgage sent to the central bank? I was told one of my mortgages was in scope, the other wasn't. Both with KBC.

    Post-discharge ICB Report

Hi Prodigy/no_moolah, I feel your pain!! I would be really interested to hear how things progressed for you. Did the banks agree to correct the ICB? It doesn't seem like they have learned though. I was discharged in the UK almost 5 years ago now so I'm trying to get my ICB record corrected so...
