I can’t post the link here as I have not got enough posts but PTSB have reduced their rates if someone could please post the article! Still high but maybe EBS will reduce their fixed rates more as a result of this! UB’s four year fixed at 2.6% still seems the best to me!

Just off with BOI and they told me you have to be with your current lender for 12 months before they will consider a switcher application.

Hi Brendan We only drew down last month and fixed at 3.50 and switched to the 3.15, however I was told on the phone there was no breakage fee for breaking out of the fixed rate (this was before I had given account details or anything like that as I had rang out of curiosity at first).

Hi An update in relation the above. I moved to the lower fixed rate with no breakage fee all I had to do was sign a form and write a letter to say that I wanted to switch to the lower rate!

I posted in another thread about breaking out of a fixed rate. How long have you been on fixed for if you don't mind me asking ? We have only drawndown on our mortgage with EBS, I know we are yet to receive cash back but there is a big difference between our rate and the rate for Haven and AIB...

I drewdown on a mortgage with EBS last week (lucky me) and I am on the fixed rate for a year. Does this mean I cannot change the rate (if they do lower it) to a lower fixed rate if offered or to variable ? If I do so will there be a breakage fee? Thanks in advance.
