Water pump in apartment

Seems the water pump in the apartment is kaput - only water in the toilets and cold tap in the kitchen sink - any ideas on how much this would cost to replace should it need to be replaced? Just hoping to have an idea before I ring a plumber in the morning
Thanks

Can't possibly even "guesstimate" when we have absolutely no information to go on. What size pump, what pressure, what volume, negative or positive head, or even neutral, single or duel impeller, etc. ?

Your best bet is to get the model number of the old pump and then Google is your friend.

Edit: No such thing as a "run of the mill" pump really. Just as a small example see the links below for domestic pumps from ScrewFix. €525 of a difference between them and "Salamander" would be regarded, in some circles, as a low end pump.

If it is a run of the mill pump, you are looking at around 300-400 quid for pump and plumber.
150+ ish for the pump
YMMV of course, depending on actual Pump required ...

Similar situation last year. Cost me 600 euro pump and labour. Just when talking to your plumber some pumps are a lot quieter than others.

Would definitely like a quieter one, it’s whirring all the time beside the bedroom, thanks!

Is there a trickle of water out of shower ? Does it have stronger pressure when you lower it ? Did you check your trip switch meter ?

@electo nothing in the shower, small bit of water coming out of the hot taps in the bathroom and kitchen and pump gone suspiciously silent. Trip switch is ok. Did trying turning it on and off with the tap on and also someone else suggested tapping the pump to get it going again - plumber coming out later, possibly just something minor he said, fingers crossed, thanks!

May be just an airlock so but if he says the pump is gone you are looking at 500 for a new one. Your flush should be connected to the tank but I know lots of places that had them connected to mains so that might explain why the cistern is running OK. Was there works done around the area or in the block which required the water to be knocked off for a awhile ? This is usually a precursor to an airlock in the system.

thanks @Coolpanda - I tried them earlier but they didn’t get back to email so I rang someone else but will def keep in mind if it’s a big job as that sounds very reasonable and great to have a reccomendation too. Lol,I spent half an hour tapping it last night to no avail but luckily the gym is only a few minutes away for showers!

Pvc card (I think he called it) was gone and then asked him about the constant whirring - the dome part at the top was full of water so he replaced both for €230 inc labour and we now have hot water and a silent pump - worth every penny - thanks for all the help
