Using pin to sign on

Recently had problems in signing on and being ignorant my son sorted it out. I now sign on using a Pin number and am aware that this system is confined to my computer only. Does it now mean my old password is obselete. I do not want to trouble him anymore with my problems .
 
Microsoft Windows allows you to replace your password with a pin for all you Microsoft accounts. I've never taken that option.

Doesn't seem easy to turn it off and revert to password. Why do you want to...
