I am not sure this is in the right forum We are moving back to UK in Ausugst/Sept 2019 - well one in college here, and maybe the other child in college in UK. Moving back to Birmingham. Lived in the UK for many years and miss it - never really settled here. However, am interested in buying a house there, but keeping base here. I was hoping to start house hunting there in Jan 2019, however, I am concerned re implications of buying a house there in terms of Brexit - will I be able to buy house there. I work in healthcare, so getting a job there will not be too difficult. One of my children was born there, but does not have a UK passport - I don't know if this will make it any easier to be able to live there post Brexit. What do people think re moving back/buying house?

Hi! Leo, maybe it's not the correct forum, but I'm looking at it from a legal perspective - will I be able to buy a house over there - I worked there for 8 years but haven't lived there for now over 10 years. Maybe nobody has the answer - but I've had plenty of offers of work there. I understand my children are entitled to British citizenship, as their dad is a British citizen. I have always wanted to move back, but the timing wasn't right.

Then yes, from a legal point of view, you will able to purchase a house there. You do not need to be resident or a citizen to buy property in the UK.
