Best Branded Whiskeys and Whisky

Heya, looking for recommendations among the 'usual suspects' of the big brands of Irish whiskey and Scotch whisky (as long as it's not too peaty). It'll be mixed in cocktails so no point in paying out for ones that are aged for 10 year old, or single malts etc

So something nice and smooth that won't break the bank, mixes well and won't cause rotgut.

Bells, Grants, Famous Grouce etc - not sure which of these are peaty and which are not?

Aldi's Clontarf whiskey is a very pleasant option - nice on its own and with mixers.
