Yes - l would agree with you on that. Thanks Slim. Its a mortgage account - TPA is the Third Party authorised to deal with the account in my name. Surely if they were acting in my name which effects myself and my account I should be fully entitled to all information relating to the account?
Wouldn't agree with that. The data subject retains access rights despite allowing TPA to access the account. Anything done on behalf of or to the benefit/otherwise of the data subject remains his/her personal information, including anything contributed, information wise, by the TPA. FOI does not apply, Data Protection legislation only.Surely it depends on the wording of the authorisation document(s). "TP is authorised to deal with this until I cancel the arrangement in writing" or some such. If this cancellation isn't issued, I'd expect the organisation where the account is held to refuse to honour FOI requests unless they originate from the currently authorised TP.
