I have been living in the USA for almost forty years and plan on returning soon. The last time I was home I inquired about my pension and was told that I had worked the ten years in the UK before I left and was due a little money. They sent me a form to fill out. Unfortunately I had a LOT of jobs. I do not remember any of the dates of where I worked or all of the names of the places. None of them are in business anymore and from what I have found is that records do not go back as far as I need to go. I am 68 years old. Does anyone have any information which might help me. Thank you.

This is an IRISH site.

You could try writing to the UK dept of pensions in Newcastle. If you give them your name, date of birth, as many UK addresses that you can remember as well as as many UK employers and their addresses with approx dates you worked there, they should be able to track something down for you.

You can also make an inquiry online...

Also if you don't claim the UK State pension at age 65 ...it is automatically deferred...
https://www.gov.uk/deferring-state-pension

State Pensions also have access to a database of private or employer based pensions....you may have paid into one 40 years ago and don't remember. It's worth while asking them to check this database for you... Best of luck with the search...
