Can I cancel my life insurance that I got when I took out my mortgage? And if I can and do, can I get another one, say in a year?

Thanks

No. Part of the terms and conditions that got you your mortgage.

Why would you want to cancel? It would be an awful chance to take in the event you needed cover.

if the insurance is not with the mortgage then of course you can cancel it. Just call the insurance company and cancel.

It is likely to be an extremely foolish thing to do. You will probably pay considerably more to get a new policy, especially if you are older next year. :p

What is your reason for doing this? It's not the best plan but we don't know why you want to do it, do you have a particularly expensive one or is it just a cost saving exercise?
