The following 3 plans would be very good alternatives to Irish Life Level 2 Health Excess.
1. Irish Life Better Ultra; price 1345pa(note this plan will reduce to 1300 from 12 June 2017) same hospital cover, lower excess 100 on admission
or 50 per day case in private/hi-tech hospitals. Very good day to day cover on this plan.
2. VHI PMI 43 16; price 1171pa; same hospital cover as before, excess 150 on admission or 50 per day case, good day to day cover on this plan.
3. VHI PMI 44 16; price 1112pa; same hospital cover as before plus extra cover for a private room in a private hospital included, excess on
admission or day case 150 to a private/hi-tech hospital. Limited day to day cover.

Day to day cover only - possible waiting time
Note; the extra day to day cover on option 1 or 2 may incur a waiting time depending on your age. With Better Ultra plan, there is no waiting
applied for day to day cover for under 55 years. A waiting time applies to over 55s of 26 weeks before you can claim day to day expenses.
VHI PMI 43 16 - VHI have no waiting time for day to day expenses for under 50 years, 26 weeks waiting applies for age 50 -64 years, for 65 yrs
and over the waiting time is 2 years before day to day expenses can be claimed.
Hospital cover on all 3 plans is similar to your current plan so no waiting applies.
