Posting / delivery of a large parcel (persian rug)

What is the most cost effective way to post a large parcel within Ireland or to the UK?

It's a 13ft x 10ft persian rug.

Your best option is to ring a few couriers and ask them.

The problem is the weight - all couriers contacted so far have a limit of 30kg where my item is 45kg

Why not try a 'Man with a Van'? Lots of them advertising on DoneDeal.

As an aside; I got tiles delivered from one county to another. I had to get a guy with a large delivery truck to take on the job .... it was a two pallet load.

Your rug is probably a pallet job so the big truck may be your only option.
