Why would someone choose an RAC over a PRSA?
Do they tend to have lower charges?

Personal Pension has much wider investment options than a Standard PRSA. Charges on PRSA depend on contribution usually 5% premium charge & 1% amc. You can do execution only (choose your own funds and no advice) and not have to pay 5% premium charge. Charges on Non Standard PRSA not set is stone.Personal Pension charges similar depending on amount contributed however if you haggle you can get amc and premium charge reduced. Would be more concerned about amc myself as the bigger the fund the more you pay.

Thanks for that. Is there a reason (policy or otherwise) why PRSA fund choice is more limited than personal pension?

My understanding (open to correction) was that Standard PRSA was designed to be transparent and easy to understand. Hence set charges and investment limitations
