If it's a low level of contamination you could disinfect the well; it's recommended that people would do this routinely on an annual basis (e.g. in September when the water is probably at its lowest leve). You can do it yourselves or there are companies who will do it for you. The company might run a chemical test on the water to see if you'd need a filter put on the supply as well as the UV treatment.
