Sorry if wrong group. Has anyone bought a luggage tracker and if so how do you rate it. With all the bags getting lost looking into it.
Thanks

I’m interested in this too. I’d prefer something suitable to use with Android if anyone has a recommendation. I don’t have an iPhone, but do have an iPad so could use an AirTag if it’s the best.
My luggage was delayed on a recent trip. It would’ve been helpful to have a tracker.

Thanks for the replies. I have heard that the apple Air tags are very good also. Dont have any Apple devices so like POC if anyone uses any Android device please post your opinion on it.
Thanks

Tile are the leading Android trackers with a range of up to 120m. Similar to Apple Air Tags, long range location is dependent on others in close proximity to the device having the Tile app running on their phone.

We used the air tags going to & from US. Found them excellent & could easily see where luggage was

Did you put them inside your luggage or hang them on the outside?

Oh definitely inside, you can get nifty little key rings. They’re on our house keys now so you’d get use of the. outside of luggage tracking

Thanks for all the replies. Going to get the Tile pro 2 set for €60 they seem to be the best for android and have great reviews.
Have mate who works in the airport and the amount off missing luggage is unreal. Also some gone walkies.

Btw. The most recent reviews on amazon UK does not sound is a good device for luggage tracking.

I was talking to the local travel agent he has one of the other tiles for his luggage for years and finds it great. The sound off it is not too loud pity, I would have loved it to sound like a rock concert.

Just to provide some feedback, I was curious so bought a Tile Pro for a recent trip. They advertise a range of up to 120m, but once there's a concrete wall in the mix that drops way down as expected.

In Dublin airport, once my luggage passed behind the screens the app wasn't able to locate it and didn't find it again until just after I saw it coming towards me on the destination carousel. So while they might be useful for finding keys or the like within the home I don't think they'll work as an effective tracker over distance without way more people downloading the app and allowing it to run all the time.

I got the pro myself, had the same issue. On the upside it did tell me that my luggage was in Spain when I arrived. They are not expensive so I was happy enough with that.

You might have been luckier with another app user in close proximity to your tag after it arrived in Spain. In my case my tag didn't connect with any other user before it cane into range of my own phone in France and on return to Dublin. With only ~5 million downloads of the app worldwide that's not too surprising I guess.

I used them recently too. On the outbound trip, my phone picked it up when I got onto the bus from the plane to the terminal. I was very relieved to know my bag was at my destination, especially as there was a very long delay before any baggage appeared at baggage reclaim.
On the return journey my phone only picked it up just before it appeared on the carousel.
I had the Tile Pro inside my luggage. I wasn't sure whether it was better to have it inside or outside.

Identical experience a week ago. Mine was also inside the luggage.

The difference between Tile and Apple Airtags is that you need your lost luggage to be near a person with Tile app on their phone for the Tile. Fine, there will be a few, so you might get lucky.

But with Apple air tags EVERY Iphone automatically has the finder software loaded. Given half the world has an iphone you are bound to find your luggage .

That's my take on it. I tried Tile with limited success and now use Airtags. Tested a few times and works great. (I am an Android user so had to purchase a cheap second hand iphone 7 for €60 for use of these if needed when travelling)
