KBC KBC - infamous flyer timeline

I hate saying it but our cases are going on far, far too long, it's the lack of clarity around timeframe and when we know that is the problem..

I gather my case is near the adjudication stage but the Ombudsman has not communicated with me or contacted me in any way with any specific queries on my particular case which I find a bit strange given that no cases are really the same.

Hi Calamity my case is at a similar stage and my experience is the same as yours I haven't been contacted either

Surely the FSPO needs to reach conclusion soon on our cohorts . Is the overdue delay down to them wanting to get it right ? Ie - people may not have contractual wording around reverting tracker when coming off fixed but there is a lot of issues with flyer stating tracker was default during a certain time period nov06-july08 and lots of selective correspondence from KBC on options that clearly omitted tracker option .

I would have guessed some decision should have been made by now by the ombudsman . Any updates from anyone linked to flyer issues ?

Has anyone any feed back on their case . I also have a flyer case within in the time frames and was deemed not effected .
I received a copy of the FSPO demand for evidence to KBC the other day so I am about 1 month away from adjudication which could take another 9-18 months . From what I have been told the flyer cohort would all be done at the same time but his could take a bit of time . Plus there is the issue of KBC trying to leave the Irish market .
Any feedback would be appreciated

I agree and to compound the issues, I now see that the existing Ombudsman is moving on and let's hope the new person will be able to take up the reins on this pretty quickly. Really , we all do need some update on where the whole process is at and what are the timeframes involved. I'd like to hear comments on this.

As I said previously, my case went for adjudication last December (mine is a flyer case also). I looked for an update last month and was told it can take up to 12 months and it could be Dec/Jan before I get a decision. I will post here if I get an update in the coming months. I would also be grateful if others who receives an update in relation to the Flyer share there update on the thread.

What I find frustrating is that we all seem to be in the same 'boat' but we dont seem to have a clear understanding as to how the actual process is going to actually play out. If the cases are more or less the same, surely then, if adjudication is concluded on a particular case , then there should be a knock on effect on other cases. Does anyone know if this is actually the case....

My case is just about to enter the adjudication stage. I think I am at the opposite end of the scale to @Jazzer1, drew down Dec 06. Would be great if you can keep us posted on progress on your case. I assume the bank are holding the same line with all “flyer” cases.

Can someone explain how the adjudication process works, I'm a bit from there. How long does it go on and I take it that the Ombudsman is the Adjudicator.

Not sure how the process actually works, but in terms of timeframe it seems anything from 9 to 18 months

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts if the Ombudsman rules in favour of the client and KBC say, 'sorry we're not paying', what happens then, does the Ombudsman have the power to compel them to pay up..would like to hear on this.

An article in todays business post . Seems KBC are still paying redress - I wonder if some of the flyer scenarios are getting settled on a case by case basis ?
