Evening all

I ordered an item from a uk based website and it got delivered after I paid the customs charge.
However once I opened the parcel and discovered the item was broken inside I took pictures and sent them too the retailer who said they would sent me a new item which is what I need.

My question is will I be liable too pay another customs charge on the second item as it’s a replacement item ??
Any advice

thanks

The seller should mark clearly that it is a replacement and include accessible paperwork to show this. (Documents envelope)

I got a txt & email from an post yesterday stating parcel arrived and payment due.
The amount due was €4.02 total with €3.50 of that as a service fee due too an post.

I didn’t get a chance too get down too the post office but once I got home my parcel was in the porch with no mention of any payment due.

If the vat owed is under €1 there is no obligation for an post (or any delivery company in any EU country) to collect.

So theoretically, if you purchase something for under €4.05 and it is sent by standard royal mail post (vat exempt) no vat is due as it is considered uneconomical to collect.

Same for small items from China.

It would still have to have the customs declaration - taric code, value, description and email contact on the package.
