Small repair of cement

I have a small bit of DIY to do at home. The garage door has a 'lip', made of cement, running around the outline. A small piece has broken away and I would like to fix it back in place.

I guess what I need is very small amount of cement, or something to use as a bonding agent ?

Any suggestions, based on the detail able, for how I should approach this ?

Woodies etc. Small bag of pre mixed fast drying cement can be purchased. Just add water and away you go. No mixing no mess instructions on the bag.

Is it sand/cement or concrete do you know ?

If concrete then a small repair is practically impossible and you would be better off replacing the complete "lip" and even then employing what I suggest below.
If it is a sand/cement aggregate then a small repair may be possible but it is imperative you get a good key on the existing "lip" or it will just fall away very quickly.
What I have done quite successfully, is to drill into existing sand/cement and place rawlplugs and brass screws, obviously leaving proud, but below level of repair to give a good solid key to the new mix. The more the better.

Hi TarfHead - does the area that cracked off, get a lot of traffic (footfall / car / bikes etc)? if so, then to get a good hold you should break off more of it and ideally as Sparkrite mentioned, drill into the existing cement so the new mix has something to grab onto. I've done it in the past for a step into an outside boiler room, and into an outhouse - they don't get much traffic, but still going strong many years later.

How big an area has broken off?
