Title updated to incorporate the current names these scammers are using.

Has anyone had the experience of applying for a free trail of Renuvew face cream and been charged full price. Im only realising now its a scam , the small print wasnt shown about cancelling or I would be charged for months supply. I need to find the company address details to cancel but of course they cant be found . anyone else fall victim to this type of scam

Is it the same people?

Speaking on Liveline today, caller Vicki McNulty of Galway explained how she had ordered anti-wrinkle cream from what was advertised as the RTE presenter’s new skin care line: TryVix.

Brendan,

Dont know if it's the same crowd, but their MO sounds very familiar. Reading the boards thread linked above, one of the renuvue tricks was to use an Australian TV personality to "endorse" the product, which they hadn't done at all.

'Free' skincare trial offer is leaving women feeling red-faced

They are still at it

An Irish woman told the Sunday Independent she clicked on the offer and authorised a payment of €4.95 for post and packaging for Reno Skincare Labs trial offer products.

A few weeks later, she was shocked to discover hundreds of euro had been taken from her credit card account. She had not checked a couple of credit card bills for a while

I'm late to the Revolut card that has been recommended by others on here for some time. The instant notifications of charges and the ability generate temporary virtual cards or to freeze your card via the app make it a good option for online shopping.

My wife got caught, the small print was well hidden and she did not finalise the purchase. What annoyed me also, is that the PTSB would do nothing to stop reoccurring monthly payments, they said I had made contract with the merchant. I wrote about 9 letters disputing this. They cannot take it now because I closed my account, and also the nearest branch was 20 mile away
