Pressurised system - will the pump be noisy?

In the middle of kitchen extension. This includes switching from oil to gas. Plumber advises installing a combi boiler which heats the water as needed. He also recommends a pressurised pump.
Am very concerned that this may be noisy. It will be housed beside the boiler in a kitchen cabinet.
Any views would be very welcome.
 
My plumber strongly advised against it. We had one in an apartment, and wanted in the house, but he talked us out of it.

With a combi-boiler, you've no hot water cylinder. So if someone is having a shower, and another person turns on the tap in kitchen for example, they're competing for hot water. Maybe it was a case of size of the boiler.

The other thing is the boiler is constantly turning on and off each time you use hot water, which seemingly shortens the expected lifetime of boiler. That's noisier than a pump would be. The pump can also be housed anywhere, it doesn't need to be near boiler.

Your plumber obviously knows more than I do. Just make sure you ask him the right questions.
 
You need to do a cost versus use analysis, in simple terms, cost your efficient ordinary boiler with pump which can be located anywhere which will run through a tank ensuring lots of hot water versus cost of a combi boiler, the removal of water tank and associated pipe removal.

You will hear the pump, at least we do but it is not intrusive.
 
Get a grundfos pump and place on a sound soak matt. You will bearly hear it if placed inside the house and not at all if outside. Huge difference in water pressure in showers. Personally, regarding the boiler I would go for a high condensing boiler as oppose to a combi, but I have not seen the set up re the plumbing around the house.
 
Red onion is right a combi boiler is typically installed in an apartment where you short on space and dont have lots of people

You should look for a new plumber - many plumbers are lazy and it sounds like he does not want to install a how water cylinder hence the combi boiler suggestion.
