Hi, I work shift and am entitled to overtime etc. However our boss wants us to come into work occasionally for meetings etc. What I was wondering is are you entitled to 4 hours pay even if you are only there for an hour for example. That was the case in my old job but is it at the compaines discretion or have you a legal entitlement? The boss says he only has to pay us for the duration of the meeting so was just wondering is he right or is he chancing his arm!!:confused:
 
Chances are the company will have a policy to cover this. In some companies it's 3 hours 'callout' and in some it's 4. Ask to see the On Call/Call Out policy.
 
Organisation of working time act..................11 hours continous rest between attendance.................would coming into a meeting interfear with this?
