Woodstown Knocklyon

There is a back way you can do that - up the mountain via ballycullen road, left at the T junction, right onto MT Venus road, left at the end, right around the hairpin bend, follow the road around to the left, straight past Marleys and up over Ticknock hill, past Lamb Doyles and down into Sandyford.

the backroute actually takes longer, theres loads of traffic trying to cross the M50 on this route trying to get into sandyford, i used live in stepaside and used take this road. I think that the m50 might be handier..
 
you could well be right lexus - ive never used it in that direction at heavy traffic times.
its a useful one to know anyway though.
 
definitely, especially with friday traffic going northbound on fridays, that back way would be quicker than joining the queues
