Hello,

I was hoping for some advice on how to wind up a company. The books have a zero balance so I do not need an accountant. What forms do I fill out and is there anything else I need to be aware of?

Thanks.

Do you owe anybody any money? Are Revenue owed anything? Is this a Limited Company?

Have at look at the Voluntary Strike Off procedures [broken link removed]

If it is a limited company and you have zero assets/liabilities including nothing to Revenue, then you can apply for Voluntary Strike off. You can get all this done presently for €199 incl VAT and advertisements from

( no connection with the company mentioned )

If there are no assets or liabilities, and all Revenue matters are up to date you can do it yourself, it is relatively straightforward and the CRO website ([broken link removed]) sets out exactly what is required. The only cost is the price of the newspaper advertisement.

Advertising in an national paper isn't cheap, an accountant/agent may have negotiated discounted advertising rates so it might actually work out cheaper to use them if their rates include the cost of advertising.
