Who told the press about the €150K AIB write-down?

I'm curious as to who announced the €150,000 write-down of a mortgage to the press. I don't think the release gave much information about the background circumstances of the case - the family's incomes, how long they'd been in arrears, other debts etc. So I'd imagine that AIB will be swamped with enquiries today from people who are able to service their mortgages, others who aren't and all points in-between, asking for a write-down.

It's great publicity for IMHO but as AIB contribute to IMHO I'm just surprised that they would have authorised a press release.

Posting this as a new thread so as not to drag the main discussion of the deal itself off-topic.

Hi Liam

Given that David Hall has been on the radio talking about it, I assume that he has done so with the approval of AIB.

This shows that the IMHO deal is working and should encourage others to get in touch with them.
