Got a great deal from Quinn Insurance approx. €250, but I have health and motor insurance with them also so that probably made a difference.

Quick question re: landlord insurance.

If you have to pay €500 or €1000 for it, can you deduct the entire amount off your rental income when reporting it to Revenue?

Its expensive because of extra risk. Most people if they are owner occupiers take greater care of property than tenants. Also there is a liability issue where landlord must cover his liability against tenant getting injured due to a defect on the property.
