VAT on diesel car and Revenue reference

Hello,

from reading previous threads here it seems that VAT is not reclaimable on diesel consumed by a business vehicle if said vehicle is a car. I have searched the Revenue site to confirm this but cannot find a reference to this area.

Can anyone point me to a section in the Revenue site where this specific issue is dealt with.

AFAIK VAT on diesel is reclaimable for a business car but VAT on petrol for any vehicle is not reclaimable.

Thanks MsGinger. A lot of recent threads here are saying that you cannot reclaim VAT on diesel if the vehicle is a car. I am trying to find out what is the correct position.
