Wrong forum UPC changed billing period without notice

Sky got in touch with me with a sports chanel offer. I called UPC and they said they would match it to stay with them and take a 1year contract. Fine - Today I received a bill and they changed it to a monthly bill. I called them as I had not agreed to this, and they said as I had upgraded I come under this billing system.
I was never informed of this change and the whole thing was done by phone. I told them I was not accepting this and she just said as I am now under contract I had no choice. If I was informed of a change in billing period as part of this deal I would not have agreed to it.
