Transitioning from Jobseekers Benefit to Allowance - advice on rights?

Hi there

I was made redundant 9 months ago and received €70k, €30k of this went immediately on debts. The remainder has been used as income to pay mortgage and bills at a rate of approx 2k per month. Now that I am transitioning to Allowance rather than benefit, will I be entitled to allowance as it is means tested? I have net cash assets of approx €10k (credit union). My bank statements show a monthly credit of 2k which is transferred to me from a debtor, but which ends soon. Current account is overdrawn by end of month.

Will I be entitled to allowance? I worked for 20 years before being made redundant, although I gather this does not matter in the assessment? I need to maintain the €10k liquidity due to ongoing health issues and the possibility of high unforeseen medical expenses.

Thanks for any advice. Appreciate it.

You can have savings of 20k without it affecting your JA means test. However the monthly transfer of 2k is likely to look like income so you may need to explain that in great detail.
