Tracker mortgage buyback

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had tried to get a financial institution to buyback their tracker mortgage (at a discount of course!). It occurred to me that if they're making a huge loss on trackers, that maybe they'd consider discharging it at a discount. I'm lucky enough to have an ECB+0.5% rate from NIB, and thought I might try my luck with it - looking for tips!!

There have been a few threads on this before - run a search. To my knowledge, the banks won't entertain it - at least not right now.
