I am thinking of making an investment property my PPR.
I am currently renting.

WHat sort of hoops do i have to dance through to claim mortgage interest relief?

Is it just a case of supplying a utility bill?
 
Revenue's TRS1 form doesn't have any spaces for your situation, but I'd reckon if you ring the TRS helpline 1890 46 36 26, they should put you right.
 
On a related topic what kind of proof do the bank require that i have actually made it my PPR s opposed to say continue renting in a different premises?

Do they require a utility bill?
Or do i just tell them and they believe me?
 
I don't know, but as the tax write-off on interest against rent is generally worth more than owner-occupier TRS, I can't imagine they'll be investigating too deeply.
