hi everyone
our excellent tenant is moving our of our rental apartment at the end of May, the ESB and Gas bill are currently in his name ( naturally) and we have no new tenants lined up as yet.
It it standard practise to transfer the bills back into my name ( the landlord) before he leaves and then take meter readings and get the new tenant to transfer them to their name?
thank you in advance

Yes, get a meter reading the day they leave for ESB and transfer all utilities to your own name. If tenant hasn't already advised you may be asked for their new adress. When new tenants go in, it's just a case of another call, with meter readings where appropriate, to transfer to them.
