Switching my mortgage?

I have a mortgage of €80k with about ten years left on it. I'm currently with EBS (variable rate 5% soon to be 5.25%) but by doing a bit of research I feel EBS's rates are not one of the best at present.

As my mortgage is small in comparison to a lot of people, is it worth my while trying to switch? If you look at Ulster Banks website there examples of switching is €300k & €350k. Are banks more interested in attracting people with much bigger mortgages?

Thank you in advance

I have almost finished switching from EBS to Ulsterbank, ballpark mortgage is also 80K. Ulster are giving a €1000 incentive to switch but you might have missed it. Bottom line is you save money by switching.

Just switched to AIB.

For a mortgage on an LTV less than 50% they gave me 4.45% discounted for first year then 4.6%. I had been with ICS - nice to deal with BTW - but rate was at 5.25%

AIB also gave me €1200 for legal fees.

Pretty good, as it effectively cancelled out recent ECB rise, and then some.

There's no charge to switch to NIB, but they make it a pain and you have to chase them continually to get things done. But it was worth it for the saving I made.
