Stamp duty change - Will I be able to claim it back

I signed the contract for my house on the 18th of March 2007. Now with the new finance act that allows first time buyers to claim back the stamp duty from March 31st, I have been told by different people that

A.) I wont get the stamp duty back as signed the contract to early,

B.) The change of name in the "deeds of transfer" happened on the 9th of May 2007 and that I will get my stamp duty back.

Does anybody know which is right??? Will I be able to claim back the stamp duty?

My guess is that as the sale did not complete till may you will be able to claim it back. However you will have to wait until the Dail passes the legislation to be certain. In other words plan to spend it but dont actually spend it just yet :)

You will know for definite very shortly.
