I need to soundproof a 'middle floor' apartment which has timber joists in the adjoining floors. I'd like to hear if anyone got a company specialising in this or anyone who managed to succesfully do such a job. While the sound below is rather easy from my side the ceiling is probably more difficult as I cannot force the upstairs apt to put sound dampening measures such as cork etc. This is the more pressing problem as I can hear footsteps whenever someone moves about quite clearly.
