[Solved - not a scam] Unsolicited Morgan Stanley Treasury Liquidity Fund prospectus in the post

@ClubMan you have no reason to believe it is genuine, your only argument has been that it was sent to anyone who has an Etrade account.

There are plenty of scam indicators, some of which I listed earlier
I would be surprised if it was a scam even if I think it's totally unprofessional and a badly tought through mailshot.
Somebody would have had to obtain my name, address and last 4 digits of my E*Trade account and then send me a badly formatted brochure that doesn't actually obviously solicit anything from me.
So even if it was a scam, it would be a really poor attempt at one.

I just received my second copy. Looks initially like a scam to me but hard to tell since they don't make it 'easy' for you to send them money. My wife (with her own etrade/morgan account) has also received two copies. The top right of the front page names it Copy 001 (all four of the copies through my letter box are Copy 001). If everyone else on this thread is Copy 001 I guess a scam is more likely than a buggy mailshot? Will call etrade this evening to check. If its a scam then its a serious data breach. Whatever it is - its a waste of paper.

All of us have copy #1

Why do you think that that would make it more likely that it's a scam?

What did they say?

I received the same 'Memorandum' today, same details COPY No 001, I too have an old etrade account which contains a few cents, I'm chucking mine as reading between the lines there is nothing to action

Definitely chuck it, however if anyone in this thread would finally read the actual lines, they'd see it's an "exclusive super-secret opportunity to invest in an offshore tax haven that you're not allowed to talk about to anyone", and you're supposed to send your account details to the adresses in the last few pages using the provided templates.

I created this account specifically to inform people about it, but this forum is... too much work. Bye.

If you suspect there is something untoward, perhaps you should consider reporting to the authorities. Not sure what you were expecting from anonymous posting on an internet forum.

Here the last pages.
Not sure if it is a scam or a very bad job of somebody at Morgen Stanley.
