Solid Timber worktops - how important is thickness?

Hi,

I'm currently pricing solid timber worktops for a kitchen. Coillte are twice the price listed at www.woodworkers.ie but Coillte's thickness is 42mm as opposed to woodworkers' 30mm. Does anyone know if the extra thickness is worth the difference?

Any other opinions on solid timber worktops?

I put iroko worktops from Woodworkers in before, can't fault them for quality. 30mil versus 42 is probably more down to personal choice really. Do you want the really chunky look? Woodworkers do a few species/sizes in 40mil, these cost more than the 30mil, but not twice the price.
