Selling and Buying solicitor costs?

Hi, long time reader, first time poster.
I'm thinking of selling in Dublin and trading up but the margins are quite fine so I'm looking to get a guide as to what the legal costs would be?

I've been bitten with big bills in the past so wanted to establish what is the average charge for a solicitor to handle the sale and the purchase?

There are an abundance of low cost conveyancing solicitors out there.

This will be a significant lifetime transaction so you might like to (a) work on recommendations from friends and family or (b) "interview" the prospective solicitors to see if they are a match for your expectations.
