Retirement Function - Kilkenny

Hoping to organise a Retirement Function in Kilkenny. Anyone advise on a good venue. Approx 40 people attending. Looking for good food and bit of music/craic afterwards. Have looked at Newpark Hotel and Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny but they both seemed very "formal". Looking for something a bit different. Any suggestions??

Langtons have a few function rooms available. If the theatre was available on your chosen night, you could arrange for live music in the room or play background music through the PA system while showing a slide-show of suitaly embarrassing photos on the big screen.

The Left Bank have a function room available upstairs (lift available), but it can be a bit of a zoo, so might not be the most pleasant for the targe audience to navigate through the crowds to access the lift at the back.
