Hello. I have Complete Simplicity at present and am due to renew this week. We are a family of two adults and two children. Is it worth staying on this plan or changing to Connect Simplicity or Simplicity plan. We have no health issues and rarely attend the doctor but don't want to drop cover just in case. Thanks

Hi Heather1,

Welcome to AAM.

I would go with Simplicity or Simply Connect plan for the adults. There is no difference in hospital cover between Complete Simplicity and Simplicity plan. The only difference is on day to day cover. The first 100 is not allowed on Simplicity plan. The main reason for choosing option 1 + 2 is to include cover
for a private room in a private hospital. If a private room is not that important, then option 3 is sufficient.

1. Simplicity plan; price 1231pa; all public, private(including private room fully covered) + 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech excess
capped at 100 x 2 max per year for all admissions, day case excess 50 per procedure. There is no excess to pay in any public hospital. Good day to day cover included, refund of 50% for gp visits, consultants, etc - but the first 100 not allowed.

2. Connect Simplicity; price 1304pa; all public, private(including private room fully covered) + 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech
excess capped at 150 x 2 max per year for all admissions. Day case excess 100 per procedure. There is no excess to pay in any public hospital.
Good day to day cover included, 1 euro excess, 50% refund for gp, consultants, etc.

3. Simply Connect plan; price 1100pa; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech excess capped at 150 x 2 max per year
for all admissions. Day case excess 50 per procedure. There is no excess to pay in any public hospital. Good day to day cover included,
1 euro excess, refund of 50% for gp, consultants, dental, etc - subject to a max refund of 500 per year. (50% of 100 = 500).

Child Options;
Laya have a special offer for children until the end of March, whereby you just pay for the first child and the rest of the children go free.
Details as follows;

1. Flex 125 Explore; price 343pa(cost of all children); all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech excess 125 per
admission and day case excess 50 per procedure. There is no excess to pay in any public hospital.
Limited day to day but the savings will cover a lot of medical expenses.

If good day to day cover is important, the following plan is worth considering;
2. Simply Connect Plus; price 280 per child; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech excess capped at 150 x 1 max
per year for all admissions, day case excess 50 per procedure. There is no excess to pay in any public hospital. Good day to day cover,
1 euro excess, refund of 50% for gp visits, consultants, dental, physio etc. Max refund 1000 per year.

There's plenty of savings to be achieved, without compromising on hospital cover overall.
