Shower gel leaked out of gym bag onto carpet. - Nice stain on carpet now ;-(
Any suggestions for what might get it out - water and elbow grease hasn't worked :-(

I'd have suggested fizzy water if you hadn't tried washing it. It's probably the dye from the gel. Try 1001 on a damp sponge left over-night on the stain.
Get in a wet carpet cleaner, you can hire them in a number of places. The stain may be that that section of carpet is now a lot cleaner than the rest due to the scrubbing / shower gel. Giving it all a good clean should help.
