We are going to insulate the rooms in our house. Do all plasterboards need to be plastered before being painted? I would have thought yes, but my other half thinks not. o_O

I didn't plaster them & painted them. It doesn't look great. So I would recommend you plaster them before you paint them.Much better finish.

Hi Fluffy

Usually the cheapest option is to tape and seal the joints on the plaster board, it could cost you a few bod to plaster all the walls depending how many rooms and what not. Plastering the walls will give you a better looking finish alright in the long run.

Taping and jointing is becoming more common as it's a faster/ cheaper solution. Plastering, done well, will give a better, more robust finish though.
